Anti-Snoring Services

There are thought to be around 15 million snorers in the UK, with the greatest sufferers usually being partners. Poor quality of sleep can lead to tiredness and increased levels of stress, having a major impact on quality of life for millions of people.

What causes snoring?

Snoring is caused by the lower jaw and tongue falling back during sleep and impeding the flow of oxygen to the airways. This results in the body breathing in more heavily, resulting in increased vibration of the soft tissues of the head and neck and the sound that we associated with snoring.

How can we treat snoring?

At Smilemakers, our Dentists can provide bespoke fitted devices which push your lower jaw forwards whilst you sleep, preventing the airway being blocked and the resultant snoring.
